Once Upon A Light

Deepavali is just one of many festivals where light wins over darkness. Across Southeast Asia, people light lamps, float lanterns, and tell amazing stories to celebrate it. This November, join us for a storytelling session that follows the trail of light from festival to festival and folktale to folktale.
Travel through legends from India, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, and Cambodia. Meet the heroes, spirits, and tricksters behind each celebration, and discover how many different ways people imagine and celebrate light, and what it means to feel light-hearted.
Led by Anish Victor, Bangalore-based theatre worker, this interactive session brings the stories alive through music, song, projected images, and live narration. Children will listen, join in, and take part. Parents will find themselves pilled in too.
