About

Cockroach and Comfort is a story about a quiet discomfort that slowly creeps into the comfortable lives we build around ourselves.
Between home, relationships, responsibilities, language, power and approval, people create worlds in which they can live and belong. Everything appears to be moving smoothly. But in the process of creating such an orderly life, we often fail to notice what we have lost. Even the slightest disruption can leave us unsettled.
A couple from North Karnataka has moved to Bengaluru for work and settled into a rented house. A young man from a village, who has studied in Bengaluru, is now working as a food delivery rider because he has been unable to find a job.
Around these three characters, a political satire unfolds. Through humour, music, shifting roles and a play within a play, the performance draws our attention to several questions:
Whose voice are we silencing in the name of peace and comfort?
What discomforts do we push away?
What truths do we learn to live without seeing?
And it is at such a moment that the little cockroach appears.
Unwanted, intrusive, and impossible to ignore.
Rather than treating discomfort as an enemy, Cockroach and Comfort invites us to look at the hidden truths that discomfort forces us to notice.
