Miracle in Antarctica A Film Screening

Miracle in Antarctica | A Film Screening

🗓️ 15th November 2026, Sunday
🕡 11 AM to 2 PM
📍 BLR Design Centre, Church Street, Bengaluru.

In December 1983, Dr. Harsh Kumar Gupta, a geophysicist and seismologist and now a Padma Shri recipient, is sent to Antarctica to lead a mission then thought impossible: build Dakshin Gangotri–India’s first scientific base-station there–before the end of the Antarctic summer, a fleeting timeframe of barely 60 days. To achieve it would be to set a world record. But time is not his only nemesis. Battered by a blizzard and a helicopter crash, will one man’s leadership and the team’s grit prevail over their frostbitten fingers, before the pack ice moves in to leave them doomed?

This will be a film screening followed by a panel discussion with Santhosh Saligram, Suraj Sumanth, Sourabha Rao, and K.J. Dilip, moderated by Nithya Satheesh.
