Piece-off - Speed Puzzling Competition by Playful Pursuits

Welcome to Piece-off #25! Join us for a day of fun and games (and puzzles!) at the silver jubilee edition of your favourite monthly competition. This one is super beginner-friendly, wildly unpredictable, and just a *little* unhinged.🧩 CATEGORIES:- MUSICAL PAIRS (group of 2): Speed Puzzling with a twist! 90 minutes, surprise puzzle and format. 3 prizes to be won.- PIECES, PLEASE (team of 4): Speed Puzzling with a twist! 60 minutes, surprise puzle and format. 2 prizes to be won.- PUZZLEPALOOZA (solo): Puzzle-themed games and challenges! Prizes for winning team, best costume and more!You can register under multiple categories as they will take place at different times. Musical Pairs tickets are per group of 2. Pieces, Please participants must buy all four tickets for the group regardless of the number of final participants in the team. Both ticket categories include the cost of registration and the competition puzzle to take home. Puzzlepalooza ticket grants admission for one person. 🧩 TIME AND SCHEDULE: 11.00 AM - 5 PM, Saturday, 31st October. 11 AM: PAIRS check-in and briefing.11.15 AM - 12.45 PM: MUSICAL PAIRS round.1.00 PM - TEAMS check-in and briefing.1.15 - 2.15 PM: PIECES, PLEASE round.3.00 PM: PUZZLEPALOOZA check-in.3.15 onwards: PUZZLEPALOOZA!🧩 RULES:- For Speed Puzzling categories, competitors must race to complete their puzzles within the time limit. If, once the time has run out, competitors have not finished the puzzle, we will count the number of placed pieces, adding only groups of 2 or more pieces correctly joined together. Competitors will be ranked by the number of pieces they have placed.- If pieces are missing/misplaced at the end of the puzzle, 5 seconds for each such piece will be added to the final time. If there are 2 or more adjacent missing pieces, no penalty will be applied as it is considered a manufacturing error.All other rules will be explained on-the-spot.About Playful PursuitsWe are Bangalore’s first jigsaw puzzle meetup group, providing a space for puzzle enthusiasts to come together to solve jigsaws, swap and sell their puzzles, and compete in speed puzzling! We meet in-person every Monday and on the occasional weekend.
