Reimagining the Muraqqa: Designer POV

A Shaivite Pandit, Not yet identified artist, Late 19th to early 20th century, Rajasthan, Pigment painting on paper, PTG.02502

Join us for a walkthrough of MAP’s latest exhibition, Reimagining the Muraqqa, with designer Rishabh Jain and co-curator Vineet Kajrolkar.

Drawing on the muraqqa—a pre-modern album in which paintings, photographs, and other fragments are assembled into a larger whole—the exhibition considers how narratives, memories, and associations emerge through juxtaposition, annotation, and the act of looking. In this walkthrough, Jain and Kajorlkar will reflect on the design decisions, spatial choices, and curatorial ideas that shape visitors’ encounter with the works.
