Join us for a hands-on album-making workshop inspired by the muraqqaβa pre-modern album in which paintings, photographs, texts, and other fragments are assembled into a larger whole.
Led by Rohini Kejriwal, the workshop will explore image-text relationships, and the ways in which juxtaposition, annotation, and sequencing can weave together personal narratives. Participants will create a tangible artefact to take home, bringing together materials, memories, and stories of their own.
Participants are encouraged to bring old photographs, artworks, texts, or other ephemera they would like to incorporate into their personal muraqqa.
